Prof. Dr. Ferid Muhic, einer der angesehensten zeitgenössischen Philosophie-Professoren Südosteuropas, würdigt Makajas Werk!
In his review “Through Ecstasy to the Peace of the Stars”, Ferid Muhic writes the following regarding Makaja’s “Eros & Logos. The Book for Saints and Sinners”:
"Instead of regarding the entire history of civilization as the history of suffering (Historia calamitatum), Komaja proposes the model of the history of pleasure, joy, the history of ecstasy, which can lead to the same destination: namely to the highest bliss (…)"
The principle inspiration for the book Eros and Logos is precisely this subtle, yet realistic and perpetually forgotten potential to reconcile such basic aspects of life as joy in the body, the need for ecstasy, the imperative of rapture, the call to pleasure and on the other hand the the consideration of our basic mission for reaching a higher spirituality and union with God.
Aba Aziz Makaja, inspired by several differences in geography and culture, has managed to create an original conception without degenerating into eclecticism. And this conception - to be frank - works!
In these days when personal paths to happiness and spirituality are completely devalued, originality on one's path has become possible only as scandal. The voices of the moralizing attacks were at the beginning surrounded by scandal but then, when the empirical groundwork was missing, had gradually to deal with the fact, that they needed to engage in a basic dialogue about intrinsic authenticity and whether it would be possible to maintain the brainchild of the entire movement. In this way all such moral apostles were soon forced to capitualte, and in their place only those who were able to engage in serious theoretical debate came forth.
Greatly simplified, the Komaja-conception is more than an affirmation of healthy eroticism and prophylactic sexual practice. Its punchline lies exactly in its self-transcending charakter, that means in its instrumentation of sex as a means for going part of the way towards attaining the highest of spirituality! In the process appropriately called "the spiritualization of sexuality", orgasm is adopted as the most ancient and natural technique for experiencing ecstasy accessible to men and women, (…)
Love is not a mindset or conception, but a completely new state, whole in itself! Just as with any doctrine - or even any of God's directives – even Komaja is not immune to abuse, corruption, perversion, or basic misunderstandings. But a person who truly achieves love as a stable state by respecting his own erotic energy, cultivating and eventually completely controlling it, realizes that he has lost the ability to do anything other than spread love. Such an enlightened person, in harmony with these teachings, will truly do everything s/he wants because s/he will only want to do the best of what's good! Additionally, s/he will reach inner peace and perfection through unification with the ever-present and eternal Absolute, in other words, God.
That is the basic inspiration of Komaja and the central credo of Aba Aziz Makaja!
